the apple of my eye.

June 22, 2010

One of my favorite go-to snacks is a cold, juicy apple with some natural nut butter.  Today, I chose almond butter.  The saltiness compliments the sweetness of the apple in the best possible way.  My favorite apple, you ask?  That would be the Jazz apple.

To me, there’s nothing worse than a juice-less, grainy apple.  Each Jazz apple I’ve ever eaten has been perfectly crisp and juicy.

No exception for this one I had today.

Another reason I love them is that they are the perfect size to accommodate my single serving Justin’s Almond Butter packets.

For the record, they are incredible with or without nut butter.  I just happen to be a nut butter fanatic.

The last reason I love them is because they sell them at my local Whole Foods for $1.99/lb.

If you come across Jazz apples at your local grocery store, please do yourself a favor and try one!

I eat an apple (or two) every day. My favorite are the big, crunchy, juicy ones!! The little apples don’t do much for me and are dry. Jazz is certainly a favorite :)

Hi Nora! You’re my kind of girl – an apple at day for sure. It’s a perfect food!

When I lived in Michigan they had Honeycrisp apples, and my goodness were they worth every penny. Ahh nothing beats a solid bite into an apple.

I love Honeycrisp, too! They are on the pricey side but like you said, totally worth it.

Me too! I’ve never had a bad one. :)

They are coming to Dallas tomorrow for a tasting event and I’m planning to check it out! I’ll take pics.

Glad to hear about the single serving almond butter! I have never tried it and decided to buy a jar at the store the other day and was horrified to see it was over $20!!!! A single serving will let me try it out without breaking the bank.

Ridiculously expensive! I’ve never bought a jar of Justin’s for that reason. I buy the Whole Foods grind yourself peanut/almond butter instead…but the packets are super convenient for the right occasion. :)
