Hello, friends and family.
This is clearly a day of poignant remembrance, bringing about many emotions ranging from sadness to gratitude. Tributes, memorials, articles, blog posts, etc. have been built, created, written, and shared so that we will never forget. And of course we will never forget. Today, I acknowledge the lost lives and the countless people affected by the tragedy that occurred on Tuesday, September 11, 2001. Today, I will say prayers for peace and comfort in the hearts of those who lost loved ones. Today, I am grateful for our troops, and I am proud to be an American!

Today, I slowed my pace, packed up the car, and hit the road.

We brought our bikes.
Had an easy, light breakfast on the road. (Almond milk soaked oats, chia seeds, cinnamon, banana, and a chopped up Peanut Butter Cookie Larabar for me. Banana and chocolate almond butter for the driving Bee.)

Sights from the highway.

Arrived at our destination. (Might look familiar from my Easter post…)

Unpacked the groceries.

Soaked in the scenery.
And we’re together doing what we love. Billy is watching football. I’m editing photos, reading things I’ve been meaning to read for weeks, and organizing my life.
I hope you are enjoying your Sunday afternoon!

i have to laugh at your breakfast on the road…it reminds me of when we did a road trip to colorado and utah and i would balance salad beasts on my lap as we drove along!
it is so true: we will never forget 9/11, those of us who can remember that date. thank you for your thoughtful tribute.
hope billy’s team wins!

I don’t think I could forget 9-11 even if I tried. That day was and still is so emotional.

aaah, such a fun trip! I love hitting the road with my main man! clearly you do too, lol!
the scenery at your house is breathtaking. And Dorry, I am loving your breakfast, that looks and sounds absolutely delicious!
As does Billy’s…scrumptious. The groceries on the left are exactly what I would’ve brought, plus the nut butters…and the Kiwi would have been all over those chips and nuts, lol!
