put on your luon

December 23, 2011

I love lululemon – the company, the culture, the clothes. All of it.

If you’re already a fan of lululemon, you know what I’m talking about when I refer to luon. Luon is lululemon’s signature, original fabric, and it feels magical in that you never want to take it off your body. Why?

  • luon is a sweat-wicking, technical fabric for yoga, Pilates, barre classes, gym, etc.
  • luon is pre-shrunk and machine washer/dryer safe
  • luon has a high percentage of LYCRA so it will not stretch or bag out
  • luon has nylon in the blend to give it a cotton-like feel
  • luon provides full coverage in your downward dog

and luon offers a 4-way stretch, so…

I pretty much wear luon everyday, and Christmas will be no exception. My go-to outfit (bottom-half): wunder under crops, savasana socks and slouchy boots.

So there you have it.

If you’re celebrating Christmas, does your family dress up for the occasion, or is it a casual affair?

I’ll dress up for our Christmas Eve party on Saturday night, but Sunday with my nieces (and Santa) will be a very casual day. A luon Christmas indeed.

  1. Luon must be why I’m utterly addicted to Lulu!! To wear their stuff everyday must be such a treat! I love your work “outfit” – the slouchy boots must look so cute with it!! I want those socks now too, so cute and cozy!

Santa came early this year and delivered my first pair of Lululemon pants and I definitely now see what the hype is all about. They feel like a second skin and I will for sure wear them outside of exercise scenarios.

yay! that makes me so happy. they really are amazing – a great investment, too, because they last for such a long time. I wear mine everyday and they still look new. :) Merry Christmas!

Glad to hear that! I was impressed that the tag said they’d last 5 years. Is part of your job with Lulu to blog about it, btw?

        Merry Christmas to you, too!

No mam! At least not currently – I blog because it’s relevant to my life and my opinions are 100% honest and true. I just really love my company. :)

I LIVE in lycra 99 per cent of the time!! Running clothes are my lifestyle clothes!
I LOVE the luon feel!! So soft!
I like that you have dress up and comfy clothing occasions – enjoy it all, dorry!
We do not dress up – casual is where it’s at!

Unfortunately I think I’m a tad too large for the lulu fabulousness, mega pout! I totally rocked the yoga pants/boots on Thanksgiving though, and I just may do it again for Christmas. It’s brilliant, really. Merry merry day to you and your sweet Bee! <3

I think not! So many women feel that way when they come into the store, and they are pleasantly surprised to find they fit quite nicely into some flattering Groove Pants. If you’re ever near one of the stores in Austin, give it a whirl!

I love when you check-in at your yoga studio on Facebook – always makes me wish I could be there to take a class with you! Merry Christmas to you, my dear! xoxoxoxoxo

I’ll have to go check it out. And pray they’re having a sale, of course! ;) The Lulu goodies always look so deliciously comfortable, I would love to own some things! And I can’t wait for the day that we can take a yoga class together. That would be the awesomest. My studio is doing a 30 classes in 40 days challenge, and I’m giving consideration to participating. The only thing holding me back is my potential massage clients around my full-time job, but I think I can make it all work. I’d just love to see the amazing effects of that many classes in a short time!

It’s definitely an investment in fitness wear! But they last for so long and really feel great. I’d consider you my hero (well, I actually already do…) if you took on that yoga challenge! I’ve contemplated them in the past, but never committed – perhaps 2012 is the year! xoxo

  6. Wow I NEVER thought about wearing lulu pants with slouchy boots! what a GREAT idea!! I need wunder under crops, those are my next purchase, I do believe. And my fave part about luon?? they make your butt look freakin awesome. So wearing them everyday would make me utterly joyous :)

I seriously wear it all the time! The black wunder unders are a perfect legging/tight to wear with boots and a longer sweater. When you wear them that often, the investment is really worth it. And yes – they do wonders for the bum! Lots of ass-slaps happening at our store. :)

I dream of working for Lulu. How could I apply?

Do you get a discount on product working there?

oh, you should! You’d be a great fit, Hillary! You can apply online, and then each store holds group interviews once a week or once a month…depending on the time of year. I highly recommend working for lululemon – it’s been a life-changing experience. And yes, we get a discount. The company takes REALLY good care of its employees. :)

I suddenly think I need those pants! They look so cute and comfy. We don’t go super overboard dressing up, but we do tend to dress up a little bit – jeans are still involved though.

Usually it’s just the 4 of us for Christmas since our family is spread out over the country. It’s not uncommon for us to eat Christmas dinner (usually around 1 pm) in our PJs!
