we started yesterday morning in Charleston with breakfast at our hotel.

then headed out to the historic Charleston City Market. rows & rows of local vendors, artists, jewelers, etc. obviously quite an attraction as you can tell by the crowd.

I almost got this for Billy.

isn’t that the face of an attack lawyer?? so happy with his pork rinds & beef jerky.

samples everywhere.

back on the street. more samples at The Peanut Shop.

then we stopped into the lululemon athletica showroom to say hello! it’s always instant friend-making when I meet people within the company, and it made me simultaneously miss my Dallas team & anticipate meeting a new crew in NYC.

the College of Charleston campus is beautiful, charming & intimate.
my favorite:

we stopped at Caviar & Bananas for lunch.

it’s like a mini Dean & Deluca, and was started by 2 former D&D managers.

after lunch, it was time to say farewell to Charleston (we’ll be back!) and hit the road.

our next stop: Savannah, Georgia.

we checked into our hotel, and immediately ventured out to enjoy the sunshine. the Savannah City Market is steps from our hotel, and there’s a lot of action.

do you see our shadow? I was trying to take a photo of the menu board, and Billy’s shadow was in the way so he just stepped over and gave me a big hug. that’s us:
horse bunnies & a fantastic wine tasting.

walked down to check out the river.

the sunset created the most magical glowing light throughout the historic squares.

we took it easy last night, and we’re excited to explore more of Savannah today, starting with an outdoor run. it’s a beautiful morning, and my legs are antsy.
after breakfast, we plan to ride our bikes all over this town.
so far – Charleston is a place I could call home. Savannah is a fun place to visit. we’ll see what today brings…

Oh I love Savannah. I’ve always wanted to visit Charleston too. Our Savannah visit was not planned – we had been vacationing in Daytona when we had to evacuate due to a hurricane. We just got in the car and started driving north. But so happy we ended up in Savannah.
Savannah was beautiful! I don’t love the tourist scene on the river as much as I loved the squares & parks. I could have run for miles & miles!
Your day sounds SO SO awesome. Utter perfect. I’ve always wanted to visit both areas. I love living vicariously through you in these posts!! Enjoy today!

We were there years ago – 18? Painful to think anything was that long ago… But it’s gorgeous.
What an amazing trip you’re making – keep taking photos. What are you using to take the photos?
hi Petra! I use my Sony Cyber-shot point & shoot. it’s old and I need to upgrade soon. I also use my iPhone camera & the Instagram app to take some of the photos. you can usually tell because they are square rather that rectangular, and they have filters on them for editing.
Oh I am loving your road trip more and more everytime I see another post from you! You two are SO cute and seem to be having so much fun together — and after seeing more pics of Charleston, I NEED to come visit there sometime. It looks like such fun!! Hope you’re having a blast today too!
