after lunchtime on Saturday, we rode our bikes up the West Side Hwy and cut across to Central Park. it’s becoming a weekend ritual to ride at Central Park either Sat or Sun. if the weather is nice, you can bet it will be crowded no matter the time of day.
we grabbed a snack + water at the Whole Foods Columbus Circle after the ride.
when we got home, it was just about time to clean up for our dinner plans in Brooklyn. we took a train from our neighborhood to Park Slope.
walked a couple of blocks, and snapped some photos on the way…
to our friends’ beautiful brownstone.
a lovely home with even lovelier hosts.
so many (5?) floors to explore.
I brought a very simple bean salad/dip. drained and rinsed pinto beans + black beans with chopped yellow & orange bell pepper, red wine vinegar, cumin, sea salt, lime.
they have a beautiful backyard with a flourishing garden, including broccoli!
Billy was in charge of the meat, and he made pork ribs and grilled chicken breast. there was also a vegetable + brown rice dish, and oven-baked tuna steaks.
and a chocolate cake for dessert while watching the Spurs game.
such a fun night with friends. we are planning to go back to Park Slope and other parts of Brooklyn to explore and try some restaurants.
yesterday included a 4ish-mile morning run, a lazy brunch cooked at home, some cleaning/organizing/laundry when I couldn’t take being lazy anymore (I’m not alone here, right?), a couple of errands on the bike, dinner at home, and couch time with B.
in bed by 10:00pm. my kind of Sunday night.
I feel rested and ready to start the new week. who’s with me?
