this is my favorite Bee.

he’s expressive (to say the least).

then there are these bees. we’ll call them worker bees.

they are pretty serious about their job. focused. diligent. determined. not distracted at all by my iPhone inches from their body. it’s good to work hard!

but don’t work so hard that you forget to look around and notice where you are, the life that is happening all around you. I’m thankful to work in an environment where everyone works efficiently. I’m thankful because it means we don’t have to work long hours. I recognize just how good I have it! to live and work in Manhattan, and get home before 6pm. plenty of time to take in some fresh air on the rooftop.

we’ve been in NYC for just over 3 months. I’ve been working for Integrative Nutrition for just under 2 months. Billy started a new job a couple of weeks ago. we both have jobs we love. jobs that allow us to enjoy the city. that’s why we moved here!

even if you are a worker bee, be sure you stop to look around.
get distracted every now and then. see the bigger picture.
I hope you enjoy the upcoming weekend! any fun plans?

I LOVE to see how happy you two are now that you’ve firmly settled into your new lives in NYC. How great it is to have jobs you love AND that give you the balance you so deserve to have in life? Such a blessing. Happy weekend to you both! xo!

always a good reminder to ‘stop and smell the roses’ as Grandpa Z would say…
I am currently enjoying my ‘me time’ – early in the morning, sitting with Basil and glass of fresh juice. Usually we are out on the patio, today was an early morning (up at 4) so we’re still inside and I’m taking some time to catch up on blog friends.
I am grateful every day that I have generous time in my days to do what I choose, in a city I love!
weekend plans, I have friends coming to visit, taking them on a tour of all the best Portland restaurants and hiking trails!
happy weekend Bird and Bee

Amazing post, Dorry!
I once felt stuck in a job that all but sucked the life out of me. I went to bed, woke up early, and dragged myself through my gray daily monotony. And then, one day, I didn’t. New York regained it’s colors and my face regained it’s smile (a natural one, as opposed to forced), and I realized it could be that way. I could work hard and be fulfilled completely and still enjoying each moment in this marvelous city we call home. It’s a wonderful feeling
I LOVE this message! When you look around and really SEE where you are and what you are accomplishing. that’s so great!! and seriously, been at your job for 2 months?? time flies! XOXO

Congrats to Billy!
Had no doubt you two would make Manhattan home in such a short amount of time.
