this photo pretty much sums up our weekend. we did a lot of cheers-ing.
the weekend started early last Thursday night at a happy hour held at Billy’s office in Soho. it was my first time to see the space and meet his co-workers – such fun!

my dad and his wife were in town this weekend. on Friday afternoon, we walked the High Line, visited Chelsea Market, and showed them our apartment and roof deck.
her sister lives here so they stayed with her on the Upper East Side. we all went to dinner on Friday night at Buddakan. an amazing experience! great service, even better food. we ordered one of almost everything on the menu. from edamame dumplings to rock shrimp and lobster egg rolls – a wonderful indulgence!
Saturday Billy and I met my dad at the Intrepid Museum. I’ve passed by it countless times, and this seemed like a perfect time to visit with my dad in town.

it was crowded since it was a weekend, but totally worth it for the experience. I doubt I’ll ever go back, but I got a good history lesson and of course took some photos.

B is a secret science nerd. really he just loves to learn! can you see me in the mirror on the right? my sunglasses are on top of my head…

and we saw the space shuttle which is pretty rad.

we had another great family meal on Saturday night at an Italian neighborhood restaurant, Lusardi’s, on the Upper East Side. Billy and I are feeling completely spoiled after being treated to dinner all weekend. we love having people in town and getting to play host and tourist. looking forward to more visits in Sept, Oct & Nov.
Sunday was for a glorious 6.5 mile run, a handful of errands on bikes, and a couple hours up on the roof deck soaking up vitamin D and enjoying the gorgeous day.

do you live in the same city as your family?
what’s your go-to activity for out of town guests?
we love to walk the High Line because it’s pretty much our backyard, and dining out in NYC is awesome because there are so many fabulous restaurants.

Sounds fantastic!! Lots of cheersing up in here for my weekend too (complete with a wee bit of a hangover on Saturday! hasn’t happened in a long time! woopsie! sometimes it cannot be helped when Jess and I get together with our men, of course hehe!). Glad you had such a wonderful time!

I hear you on the hangover – never fun in the morning, but usually worth it.
I want so badly to come have drinks with you and Jess and your men! And Billy, of course.
Lots of toasts, cheers and good times with great friends and family happened on my weekend too. The absolute BEST way to spend the weekends if I do say so myself

I do live in the same city as both sides of parents. I have to say that in Dallas, besides walking and going out to eat, I’m really at a loss for things to do. It’s nice to live in a city like NY where you can just walk out and see different things.

I hear you! I love Dallas – it’s home – but for right now, it’s a lot of fun to be able to go out and do any number of things in our neighborhood and all around the city! I hope all is well with you – I’m craving the cinnamon toast on your blog.
