welcome to a new week! how was your weekend?
I usually get in a good run over the weekend, but this morning was my first run since last Tuesday, and it was glorious! my body needed a rest last week, and I listened. taking some time off from running makes the comeback that much sweeter.
we left town Friday and headed to Newport, RI for the weekend.
our dear friends got married on Friday evening in a beautiful ceremony on a dock, and the reception was in a gorgeous tent right on the water. there will be many photos from the night at a later time, and we had a blast – danced for hours.
after breakfast Saturday morning we set out on foot to explore Newport. the town was packed! boat shows, tourists like ourselves, lots of sunshine.
plenty of charm!
local seafood snacks.
restaurants lined the cobblestone streets. it was just cool enough outside that there was a perfect autumn energy in the air.
B in a bib eating a huge lobster.
we rented an adorable home in a neighborhood less than half a mile from town which worked out really well. we ended up walking everywhere.
“The Cliff Walk along the eastern shore of Newport, RI is world famous as a public access walk that combines the natural beauty of the Newport shoreline with the architectural history of Newport’s gilded age.”
ideal weather, breathtaking views, ocean breeze.
surfers in the distance.
a perfect outdoor activity before a 3+ hour car ride back to Manhattan.
we are so thankful to our friends for including us in their wedding, especially so close to our 2-year anniversary – made it that much more special. and we always love visiting a new town! I wonder where we’ll go next…
do you have any trips planned this fall or winter?
