welcome to a new week! how was your weekend?
I usually get in a good run over the weekend, but this morning was my first run since last Tuesday, and it was glorious! my body needed a rest last week, and I listened. taking some time off from running makes the comeback that much sweeter.
we left town Friday and headed to Newport, RI for the weekend.
our dear friends got married on Friday evening in a beautiful ceremony on a dock, and the reception was in a gorgeous tent right on the water. there will be many photos from the night at a later time, and we had a blast – danced for hours.
after breakfast Saturday morning we set out on foot to explore Newport. the town was packed! boat shows, tourists like ourselves, lots of sunshine.

restaurants lined the cobblestone streets. it was just cool enough outside that there was a perfect autumn energy in the air.

we rented an adorable home in a neighborhood less than half a mile from town which worked out really well. we ended up walking everywhere.
before we got on the road yesterday we strolled the Cliff Walk with some friends.

we are so thankful to our friends for including us in their wedding, especially so close to our 2-year anniversary – made it that much more special. and we always love visiting a new town! I wonder where we’ll go next…

Wow, looks like you had simply perfect weather! Just gorgeous. I’m itching for a vacation again. I get a semi-vacation to San Diego next week. Part of it is work related, but we’ll stay through the weekend to try to enjoy the city as much as possible.

ahhh gorgeous!!! I have NEVER been to Newport, how sad is that? you two look so cute and happy at the wedding, what a great weekend for it too. And yes, I DO have travel plans this fall! playa del carmen next month for a (blog) friend’s wedding! and Chicago of course, to see Jess and Scott run the marathon

ohhh I’ve been DYING to go to Newport — this trip looks like it was ripped right out of my ‘quick trip bucket list’ for real! I LOVE that you rented a house, how cute was it huh? so cozy! Wow, that sounds like an amazing trip! We went on a family trip to NY last Christmas, but this year we aren’t going on any major trips. We do have fun fall adventures planned like apple picking and going to the pumpkin patch! I love fall and I definitely get some energy from this weather! I hope you had a great week!

I love running on the Cliff Walk!! I go all the way to the end – and dream that I live in one of those mansions and have lot’s of hired help! lol!
