it’s been brought to my attention by a handful of people that I haven’t blogged in a while. the truth is that I have been blogging, just in my head. walking down the street in NYC can be pretty inspiring, and there are many times I think, “I need to blog this!”
sometimes I even type notes into my “blog list” of stories or ideas that I want to share or write about here, but it hasn’t been a priority. even though I talk and text with my mom on a regular basis, this post is for her because she really misses me. so here are some thoughts and photos, mom. you should really just sign up for an Instagram account so you can follow along there.

looking through my iPhone camera roll, it’s safe to say I like taking pictures of the Empire State Building. it’s right up 5th Ave from my office and apparently irresistible because I’m willing to take off my right glove and expose my fingers to the cold air.
then I get home and it’s outside my window, too:

I’ve never even been to the top of the ESB, so that’s on my NYC bucket list.
a bucket list? didn’t I just have one of those for Dallas less than a year ago? yes, I did, but there’s a possibility of another move in our future. it won’t be anytime before September (and maybe not this year at all), but we’re keeping our options open for some potential opportunities on the other coast…
in the meantime, it’s exciting to take it day to day and enjoy this city I love, and the friends I love who live here. speaking of living in another city, I let Billy know yesterday that my requirement is to be near a Whole Foods. my current WF is the exact midpoint between our apartment and my office. I walk to work everyday and it’s ridiculous(ly awesome) how often I stop in to pick up a couple of my favorite things.

I’ve been craving green juice the past couple of weeks, and there’s a place near the office that’s pretty cheap. the fresh lemon and ginger give it the zing I love.

I’ve been running about as often as I’ve been drinking red wine, which isn’t much, but thoroughly enjoying both when I do. I predict a running increase in the springtime, but I’m choosing to sleep in the extra hour or so with B in the morning.

I don’t only take photos of the Empire State Building. these are scenes from my walk to work. they also require a sacrificial glove removal. it’s cold out there!
we went to New Canaan, CT on Saturday with the same crew from last summer:
the weather was perfect, and it’s always nice to get out of the city for a day or two. the pace slows down and we have the best conversation with cocktails and Mexican food. happy Billy = pajama pants, a mimosa, and bocce ball on a Sunday morning.

some friends are coming in town from Dallas this weekend, and after seeing them over the Christmas holiday, we’re even more excited to see them again.
the weather today/this week, “feels like 8”…

that’s it for now. I have a million more things to say and will be back sometime soon.
if you’re reading, tell me something fun happening in your life!
mom – just text me since I’m pretty sure you don’t know how to leave a comment.
