Hello! What’s with “Bird”? That’s the nickname my husband gave me years ago when I started calling him “Bee“. I started writing Living with Healthy Hunger in June 2010. I was looking for an outlet and a space to share my passions for fitness, nutrition, and wellness. I’ve connected with incredible people through blogging, and I’m grateful for what I’ve learned and how I’ve grown. I don’t write as frequently as I once did, but this site is my online journal – a place to document travels, adventures, and everyday life with Billy.
I’m a Social Media Consultant and Certified Holistic Health Coach based in Santa Monica, CA. I love yoga (most often in my living room), hiking, biking, my husband, my family, and picnics with friends and a bottle of wine. My name is Dorry.
After years of stress-induced restrictive eating throughout my twenties, I began to think of hunger as something much greater than solely being associated with food and eating. I learned to let go of the need to control everything in my life and just started living. Since rethinking hunger, I now appreciate and enjoy food in ways I never knew possible. I shifted gears.
I nourish my body with delicious, nutritious foods that fuel my active lifestyle, and I direct my energy into relationships, my career, traveling, staying active, and having fun.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communication Studies. I’m also a Certified Holistic Health Coach and passionate about nutrition and eating real food. Nutrition plays the most significant role in physical health, mental wellness, disease prevention, healing, fueling for fitness, and enjoying life with friends and family.
