Probiotic Drinks Recipes

Simple milk kefir – Kefir is a fermented milk drink that is made using a starter called ‘grains’. This drink is high in nutrients and probiotics. To make this you need one glass of milk and a few kefir grains. You must add the grains to the milk, cover up and leave to stand at room temperature for 24 hours. During this time the milk will ferment and thicken, after this you should strain the mix and drink the wonderful, beneficial drink. The kefir grains can be reused time and time again.

Probiotic lemonade–Lacto-fermented probiotic lemonade is so much healthier than regular lemonade, and easy to make too! To make this probiotic lemonade you will need 10 lemons (juiced), sugar (3/4 cup), whey (1 cup), filtered water (2.5 to 3 quarts) and a gallon size jar. Once you have gathered everything that you’re going to need you need to put the sugar into the glass jar, with a little hot water to dissolve it.  Then pout the lemon juice into the jar along with the filtered water and let cool. Once cooled down add your whey and stir slowly. Tightly cover your jar and leave to stand at room temperature for 2-3 days. Store in the fridge, and drink.

Fermented orange juice – Fermented orange juice is sparkly and delicious, similar in taste to Orangina. It is a great treat for not only the tongue but also the gut. To make this you will need fresh orange juice (2 ½ cups), water kefir grains (1/2 tsp), filtered water and sea salt.  To make, pout your orange juice into a glass jar and add your water kefir grains and a pinch of sea salt. Then add approximately one cup of water, cover up, shake and leave at room temperature for 48 hours. After think refrigerate and enjoy cold.

Apple cider vinegar drink – This is a cocktail like drink which holds the ability to revive all, even on the coldest of days. It is a drink which offers a multitude of benefits. To make this drink the ingredients needed are apple cider vinegar (2 tbsp), apple juice (2 tbsp) a glass of cold water and a sprinkle of cinnamon. To make, all of the ingredients must be combines and shaken. This drink should always be served cold or over ice.
