How to Take Care of Acne-Prone Skin?

In most cases, acne results due to the presence of clogged pores in your skin. If left untreated, they can result in uncontrolled breakouts on our skin. Clogged pores are normally caused by the overproduction of oil from the glands present in the skin. This oil is capable of trapping dirt and dead skin cells, which results in acnes.

Let us understand the right skincare routine that can help you get over this common skin trouble.

Mornings

  • Cleanse- Your skin is extra sensitive because of acnes and hence an ultra-mild cleanser must be used to not irritate it anymore. The products must have salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to unclog the pores and fight the bacteria.
  • Moisturize- Using moisturizer is the next important step. Most cleansers will make the skin dry and hence it must be ideally moisturized with gel-based products. The products must contain mineral oils and dimethicone.
  • Sunscreen- Now add another layer of cream to the skin. This time, it is sunscreen. Do not let your skin to develop blemishes as it will make it look even darker. The gel-based sunscreen won’t clog the pores.

Evenings

  • Cleanse- Just like the morning routine, ensure that you are cleaning your skin in the evening too. Do not wash your face more than a couple of times a day because it will make the skin go over-dry. This can cause more breakouts.
  • Tone- Not many know the right potential of toners. Toners are the second round of cleansing which your skin is in dire need of. You can add a few drops of it to a cotton ball and wipe off the remaining dirt from the skin. This is also effective in removing the makeup from the pores. For best results, opt for the tea tree toners.
  • Scrub- This must be done just twice a week. Scrubs are great when you want to remove the dead skin cells. But excessive use can lead to skin irritation and more breakouts. Use a very mild one.
  • Spot treatment- Reduce the pimples with highly concentrated salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. You can also use a face serum with vitamin C, AHA, and retinol.
  • Moisturize- Use the gel-based moisturizer that you used in the morning to rehydrate the skin.
  • Face mask- You can use mud or clay-based masks on the days of scrubbing. This will absorb oils and treat the redness.

However, if you are suffering from acute breakouts, don’t delay it anymore and take Clinicare acne treatment for the best results.
