The principle of the use of a wheelchair seat belt should be the same for every size and type of wheelchair. That is to ensure that all passengers seated in a wheelchair are kept safe. The type of seat belt used will determine how safe the seat is for using.
It is designed to attach a person’s torso to the seat in such a way that it doesn’t move around or get twisted. It should not tear off the seat or leave a mark on the surface. It should be able to hold the weight of a person sitting in a wheelchair comfortably.
It is placed on the wheelchair in three different positions: the original height of the seat (i.e. the height of the person sitting), the lower height of the seat, and the higher height of the seat. The purpose of all three positions is to ensure that each person seated in a wheelchair has a secure and comfortable seat. This ensures that no one will fall out of their wheelchair or injure themselves when going from one seat to another.

Position 1 should only be used if there is a specific pattern in seat belt usage. While not too common, in many cars this height is used by the driver, passenger, and the seat belt.
The original height of the seat can be changed a few times by repositioning the torso. The seat should move forward or backward, while a certain position is being used. By doing this, the seat belt is now in the “re-positioned” position.
The lower and higher heights of the seat can be changed at the same time by getting into the original position with the chest harness. However, if the original seat is at the lower height, there is a chance that the occupant will be in danger of falling out. Not all seats have this issue. However, some seats do.
The lower position is the ideal. The body should still be comfortable at this position. As a result, it does not mean that the longer positioning is the lesser.
If you can move the seat up and down, there should be no problem putting in the back of the seat or even having it adjusted slightly higher than the original height. It can be much more comfortable to sit in this position than in the lower position.
Another issue of the original height is that the seat belt will have a harder time moving up because the chest harness is attached below the seat. However, it should be possible to adjust the torso length to make the seat belt tighten as the torso moves. When the seat is on the lower position, the belt can be compressed farther and it can be difficult to reach to adjust the length.
Many people use a chest harness, even if they are going to be reclined while using the seat belt. They have found that it is less uncomfortable to go in this position than they thought.
The lap belt is similar to the chest harness. The main difference is that the lap belt has a more secure fit because it has a center buckle. It is the same way with the chest harness.
The correct knee position is to lay down on the floor. The elbows should be straight.
